Helping you move from school to further education
We can help you navigate your lifestyle change from school to university or further education by building your capacity and developing your skills so you can live and study more independently.
If you have a current NDIS plan with funding for ‘Improved Learning’, you may be eligible to access a range of our supports.
Our Improved Learning supports may include helping you to budget on your own, assistance with time management, setting up student accommodation/living arrangements and connecting you with other mainstream support services.

Improved Learning Support
What is Improved Learning?
Out of the three primary categories in an NDIS plan, Improved Learning falls under the Capacity Building category. It is used to fund training, advice and help for you to move from school to further education, such as University or TAFE.
How do I get funding for Improved Learning?
To get Improved Learning, it’s important you accurately describe your current study arrangements and how additional support would help you achieve your goals. This can be done at either your initial application meeting with the NDIA, or at your annual plan renewal meeting if you would like this support added to your NDIS plan.
If your child is still at school, we suggest asking the school to provide a report outlining any additional supports they might recommend. If this isn’t an option, you may be able to ask your current disability services provider to write an impact statement recommending the same.
Otherwise, the best course of action is generally to ask your GP to provide supporting evidence that outlines any learning disabilities, restrictions around accessibility or other barriers you may be experiencing to ensure you get the correct amount of funding in the right categories.
